Read this before you buy a guest post anywhere

Most guest posts quietly work against you.

Here’s what the marketplaces selling “$20 guest posts” won’t tell you: a huge share of guest post links land on sites with recycled content, no real traffic, and a “sponsored” tag buried in the footer. On paper it’s a backlink. To Google, it’s noise, or worse, a signal that you’re buying links.

A weak placement doesn’t just do nothing. It can actively drag your rankings down, and that kind of damage doesn’t reset overnight. The cheap link ends up being the expensive one.

A real guest post looks nothing like that.

It’s an original article on a site people actually read, with your link woven naturally into the content, no author-box ghetto, no sponsored label, no zero-traffic blog nobody visits. That’s an editorial vote of confidence, and it’s what Google rewards. It’s also the only kind we build.

The difference between a link that lifts you and a link that sinks you is the site it sits on. So we start there, and you approve it before anything else happens.

We start at 3 links, and there’s a good reason.

Every campaign is custom outreach, not a pull from some warehouse of pre-sold sites. Three links is the smallest order where you can properly judge our quality before scaling up. Start with three, see the sites and the writing, then order as many as you like. No monthly contract, no lock-in.

The publishers

Not all guest posts sit on the same kind of site.

“Guest post” covers a lot of ground. A link on a sleepy personal blog and a link in a national online magazine are both technically guest posts, but they do very different things for your rankings. Here’s the range we work across, and where each one fits.

Niche industry blogs

Blogs written for people in your exact field. They may not have giant traffic, but the relevance is perfect, a link from a plumbing blog to a plumbing site, or a SaaS blog to a SaaS product, reads as a natural fit to Google. These are the backbone of most campaigns.

Online magazines

Broader lifestyle, business or industry magazines with real editorial teams and steady readership. A placement here carries weight because the site is clearly a genuine publication, not a link shop. Great for brand credibility as well as SEO.

News publications

Regional and industry news sites. These are some of the most trusted domains on the web, so a relevant, well-placed link here is worth a lot, and it puts your brand in front of people in a context they already trust.

Review and guide sites

Sites that publish “best of” lists, buyer’s guides and product comparisons. A link from a relevant guide doesn’t just help rankings, it sends you readers who are actively deciding what to buy. That’s traffic with intent, not just link equity.

Authority publishers

The high-DR, high-traffic sites that anchor a strong backlink profile. We save these for your most important pages, where a single powerful link can shift a competitive keyword. They cost more, and on the right page they’re worth every cent.

We build a mix that fits your goals and budget, always leading with relevance and real traffic, never chasing a big DR number on a site nobody reads.

How it compares

Guest posts vs the other ways to build links.

Guest posting isn’t the only way to build links, it’s one of the strongest. Here’s how it stacks up against the others, in plain terms. We do the top two; we’ll happily tell you which fits your goal.

MethodWhat it isBest forGood to know
Guest postswe do this A brand-new article written for a real site, with your link inside it. Building lasting authority with full control over the content around your link. Costs a little more, there’s real writing and outreach behind every one.
Niche edits (link insertions)we do this too Your link added into an article that already exists and already ranks, on a page we’ve checked is genuinely relevant. Getting a link live faster, on an aged page that already has authority and traffic. We only insert into pages that are 100% relevant to your site, never a random edit for the sake of a link.
Digital PR / HARO Getting quoted or featured by journalists in news stories. Big, high-authority mentions and brand awareness. Powerful but unpredictable, you can’t guarantee which links land or when.
Directories & citations Listings of your business name, address and details. Local SEO and the map pack, foundational, not powerful. Little ranking power on their own; easy to overdo.

Most strong campaigns use a mix of guest posts and niche edits. Tell us your goal and we’ll be honest about the right balance for your site.

Questions

Guest posting, answered straight.

What is a guest posting service?

It’s a done-for-you service where we get an original article, with a link to your site, published on someone else’s website. We handle the outreach, the writing and the placement. You get an editorial backlink on a real site without doing any of the legwork.

How much do guest posts cost?

Price depends on the site’s Domain Rating: $130 for DR 30–49, $170 for DR 50–59, $200 for DR 60–74, $300 for DR 75–89, and $500 for DR 90+. Every price includes the outreach, the article and the placement, no separate content fees.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes, three links to start. Because every campaign is custom outreach rather than a pull from a pre-sold list, three placements is the smallest order where you can properly judge our quality. Start with three, see the sites and the writing, then scale up however you like. No contract after that.

Do you write the articles, or do I?

We write them. Our native expert writers craft an original article from scratch, good enough that the publisher is glad to run it, with your link woven naturally into the content. You don’t have to supply anything but your target page and, if you want, your preferred anchor text.

Can I choose the anchor text and target page?

Absolutely. Pick your own anchor text and the exact page you want the link to point to. Not sure what’s best? Our team can choose the most SEO-friendly anchors and target your most important pages for you, whichever you prefer.

Will I see the sites before you write?

Always. We send you every site with its real metrics, traffic included, not just DR, and you approve each one before a single word is written. Nothing goes live without your yes. It’s the opposite of a marketplace where you gamble on a listing.

Are these dofollow, in-content links?

Yes. Your link sits inside the body of the article, not in an author box, not tagged “sponsored,” not buried in a footer. That’s what makes it read as a genuine editorial link to Google, and it’s the only kind we build.

How is this different from a guest post marketplace?

Marketplaces sell you a listing from a warehouse of pre-sold sites, often recycled-content blogs with little real traffic and a hidden sponsored tag. We do custom outreach to real sites for your specific campaign, show you each one first, and write original content. It costs a little more and it’s worth every cent, because a weak placement can actually hurt your rankings.

How long until my guest post is live?

It’s up to you. If you want links spread evenly across the month, we pace them that way. If you need them faster, we can place within about a week. We’ll agree the timeline up front.

What if the link gets removed later?

If a link is removed within a year of going live, we replace it free with one of equal or better value. You keep what you paid for.

What niches do you cover?

All of them, we’ve placed links across 40+ niches. Whatever your industry, we can find relevant sites for it. (We don’t touch adult, casino, or other grey-market niches.)

Do you offer white-label guest posting for agencies?

Yes. We handle the outreach, writing and placement behind the scenes, with clean reporting you can pass straight to your client under your own brand. Your client never hears about us.

Will these guest posts survive Google updates?

That’s the whole point of doing it this way. Because links sit inside real articles on real sites with real traffic, they read as genuine to Google and hold through updates. In seven years, zero penalties across all clients.

Do guest posts still work in 2026?

Yes, when they’re done properly. A real editorial link on a real site with real traffic is exactly the signal Google wants to reward, and that hasn’t changed. What’s stopped working is the cheap version: mass-placed links on recycled-content blogs with no readers. Those were always risky and Google keeps getting better at ignoring or penalising them. Quality guest posts are as effective as ever.

Are paid guest posts against Google’s guidelines?

Google’s position is that a link exchanged purely for money should carry a “nofollow” or “sponsored” tag. In practice, the whole industry, and most of the sites you’d want a link from, treats genuine editorial guest posts as legitimate when the content is real and adds value to the publisher’s readers. The risk isn’t paying for placement; it’s paying for spammy, low-value links that obviously exist only to manipulate rankings. We only build the genuine kind, which is why our clients have had zero penalties in seven years.

What’s the difference between a guest post and a sponsored post?

A sponsored post is openly marked as an ad, usually with a “sponsored” label and a nofollow link, which passes little SEO value. A genuine guest post is editorial content the publisher runs because it’s genuinely good, with a normal in-content dofollow link. We build guest posts, not sponsored posts, no “sponsored” tags, no author-box-only links.

How many guest posts do I actually need?

It depends on your niche and who you’re up against. A low-competition local site might climb with a handful; a competitive national keyword can need dozens built steadily over months. The honest answer is that we’d rather look at your site and your competitors first than throw out a number. Send us your details and we’ll tell you what’s realistic, including when the answer is “fewer than you think.”
